Privacy at sunday44

sunday44 keeps your journal, saved place, goals, and preferences on your device. If you choose the Pro linked-streak feature, only an anonymous account ID and simple streak totals are stored online.
Information stored on your device
The app stores your selected city or location coordinates, city-change count, outside-journal entries, optional durations, weekly goal, reminder time, target UV, and onboarding preferences locally. The sunday44 app and Home Screen widget share the journal and a small forecast snapshot through Apple’s app-group storage on your device. You can delete journal entries in the app. Removing the app deletes its local data, subject to the normal behavior of device backups you control.
Location and forecast services
If you choose current location, sunday44 asks for When In Use location access and uses a coordinate to request local forecast data from Apple Weather. Manual city search uses Apple MapKit and does not require location permission.
Pro includes optional travel updates. sunday44 requests Always location access only after you explicitly turn on Travel updates. The app then uses Apple’s low-power significant-location service to change your saved city after a meaningful move. You can turn this off in the app or revoke location access in iOS Settings.
Your coordinates and location history are not sent to sunday44’s servers or shared with linked friends. The Free plan includes the first city and one later city change. Pro unlocks more city changes and optional travel convenience; location permission and safety information are not sold.
Apple may process information needed to provide WeatherKit, MapKit, location, StoreKit, and notification services under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy. sunday44 does not receive a server-side location history.
Optional linked streaks
Pro users can choose to create an anonymous linked-streak account. The service stores a random eight-character account ID, a hashed access secret, current and best streak totals, days completed this week, weekly goal, whether today is logged, link requests, and update times. It does not accept or store names, email addresses, contacts, cities, coordinates, exact journal dates, time outside, or UV values.
A friend must accept a link request before either person can see the other’s shared totals. The private access token is stored in Apple Keychain and may sync through iCloud Keychain when enabled. Linked-streak data is processed by a dedicated Cloudflare Worker and D1 database. Cloudflare may process standard network information needed to deliver and secure the service under its own policies.
Linked-streak data remains until you delete the linked-streak account in Settings. Deletion removes the account, shared totals, and links from the sunday44 database. It does not delete the private journal on your device.
Notifications
If you enable reminders, the app asks for notification permission and schedules local reminders before morning, evening, or both forecast windows, based on your choice. You can disable reminders in sunday44 or iOS Settings.
Purchases
Subscriptions are offered through Apple StoreKit. Apple processes payment and account information. The app checks verified StoreKit transactions to unlock unlimited city changes, optional travel updates, and linked streaks; sunday44 does not receive your full payment-card details.
No sale, advertising, or cross-app tracking
sunday44 does not sell personal information, show third-party ads, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites. The app does not include a developer analytics SDK.
This website
This is a static website with no advertising, analytics script, or marketing cookies. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which may process standard request information such as an IP address and user agent to deliver and secure the site under Cloudflare’s policies.
Your choices
You can use a manually selected city, decline location and notification permissions, turn off travel updates, delete journal entries, unlink a friend, delete the linked-streak account, and remove the app. iOS Settings lets you review or revoke system permissions.
Policy changes and questions
If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will be updated. For privacy questions, use the developer contact method on the sunday44 App Store listing.
